Week 13

Emerson once said, "I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new."

I interpret this as, if you take directly the words old and new you will assume that the persons are still friends. I think that regardless of whether they are old and new friends or new friends and old lost fiendships you should be thankful. Friend or foe they have molded pieces of your life together. There are days you wake up and think you have nothing but what you don't know is you have everything, everything you have recieved or given is yours. Everyday that you are not thankful you are naive and pessimistic. Being appreciative of even a snowflake or a pebble is most important. Although the masses may think this, they do not act upon it which is a problem. Not hypocricy just lack of action or motivation. Become motivated. Regardless of what anyone says believe that you, one person, can change anything you set your mind to. Whether big or little change persistance is key. Believe and your world will flourish.

Week 12

Emerson once said, "Don't be too timidand squemish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better."

I interpret this as, life is worth living so live it up and don't be afrad of anything. If you want to do it, say it, think it or feel it by all means do so. Holding back and having that filter can sometimes keep you from experiencing so many things. I believe that my filter needed to be changed a long time ago but i am almost glad because if i censored things that i think should be censored i wouldn't be who i am. What i think and how i act are what defines me and what either keeps me from or gives me the oppurtunity to do so many things. Limits are meant to be exceeded (legally). Have balls, use em or lose em!

Week 11

Emerson once said, "Don't waste yourself in rejection, nor bark against the bad, but chant the beauty of the good."

I interpret this as, wasting your time with negative things is much more than a time waster but a life waster. The more time you spend on thinking about the bad, the less time you have to experience good. Telling others to be more positive or to see the world through optimistic eyes is never a waste of your breath. If there were more positive attitudes in this world it would be come so light it might spin itself round until it fell. Everything has a good and bad side it is just your job to make the good succeed the bad.

Week 10

Emerson once said, "A friend is one before whom i may think aloud"
I interpret this as, a friend is someone you can confide your thoughts in; whether great or small, thoughtful or thoughtless, problematic or non problematic. A friend is someone who will be there to be a great thinker along side you. Friends should never subtract from you. A friend does not have to be a friend forever but turning into a foe; they were never a true friend. They do not turn their backs without just reasoning and legitimate distances is one. A friend is there to bring out the best in you, to bring out a mile. To have a great thinker along side you is to be able to conquer anything. Take the road less traveled but if you can do not take it alone because it could be so much more when you share it with someone else.

Week 9

Emerson once said, "Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air..."

I interpret this as, live life to the fullest that you believe it to be. Happiness, sadness, fear, boredum; they are all emotions that are up to you to interpret them and give them meaning. Happiness is different for everyone, as well as sadness and so on but life doesnt mean doing everything that makes you happy or "doing you". It is about filling your mind with as much as possible knowledge as you deem nessecary, seeing all you think you can have seen and sbeing satisfied with everything your senses have experienced. Life is what you want and do make of it, what you think is dull and boring might be someone elses passion. Never base your life on others experiences and never say you can't. Do everything you can to experience like the way you want to and never compare.

Week 8

Emerson once said, "Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet."

I interpret this as, whether it is theistic creationism you believe or Darwins theories, when a great thinker is born, there is a chance for change. Every parent hopes their child will be this great thinker, the hippies hope for peacemaker, the power couples hope for a millionaire, and the average joe hopes for some grandkids and a long life. Every now and then you will get the child astray who will hurt or help. The great thinker who never stops questioning could lead themselves down a road of infinate confusion. a road that is much less traveled and never has an end. The great thinker who questions at the right time could insue a change many did not want. They would find new means of life, new theories or new technology.

If you can.. never fear thoughts. Fear what could happen with or without them.

Week 7

Emerson once said, "I hate quotations. Tell em what you know."

I interpret this as, your own words can tell much more about yourself than quoting someone else. Although, i believe that almost everything has been said before our generation much better than we ever could, everyone can reword what has been said to fit themselves. Old ideas are just foundations to build upon so use their words to make your own. Every person is beautiful, unique and intelligent; everyone has their own minds so stealing others ideas only takes away from yourself. Life is perplexing, make of it what you want, just make sure you will be remembered not as someone elses shadow.
